Terry Gilliam and how to do animation

August 19, 2013

Here’s 15 minutes of Terry Gilliam (from Monty Python, of course), explaining how to do his style of cut-out animation, in some interesting detail.

Two great moments: First, he does cut-out style animation because (his words) “it’s easy!” And second, (again, his words) “Who cares about technique? It’s all about story.” Maybe not exactly his words, but that’s the gist. Check it out.
