This is a new Disney short. You may have seen it (I guess it played with Wreck-it Ralph, which I haven’t seen), but it’s pretty awesome.

The techniques used to make it are pretty awesome, too. They create it in 3D, like a Pixar film, then draw over it, basically with a digital pen. So it has the visual potential of a 3D film, but the charm of a hand-drawn animation. Here’s a link to a pretty enthusiastic article about how it was done.

It’s a Small Film

Sundance just premiered “Escape From Tomorrow,” a black and white psychological thriller filmed primarily at Disneyland. It seems Disney didn’t know about it, probably not until this article.

I love the idea (even though from the description, I doubt I’d be too into the actual film), and am so looking forward to the inevitable legal battle.

Or maybe Disney will just offer him a movie to direct to make it go away…

Superman – Animated (just not a lot of it)

These are a couple of animated fan films made by Robb Pratt. Because they’re animated, they’re short, but they also leave you wanting more – a LOT more. Here’s the first one:

Here’s the second one:

And, if you have the red/blue glasses, here’s the second one in 3D!

Robb Pratt’s a Disney guy (he worked on TARZAN – one of my favorites that no one else seems to have seen). Here’s a link to a bit of info on Cartoon Brew about him, which links to some more info, including Robb’s website. There doesn’t seem to be much info there (just a welcome screen) – let me know if you find some content.
